Interview with WileE Leader of I.D.C.

Mrxknown

M: Welcome WileE, glad you could make it! Safe travels?

W: Thanks....it takes a little bit of time to get my ship re-equiped.

M: Well alright! Let's get this questions started.

W: Groovy...

M: First tell me a little about yourself and why your squad was involved with the conflict?

W: I originally hail from Martius. My father was a miner, and my mother worked to raise my two sisters, and myself. After my father was injured in the mines, I decided that the bonus I would receive for space service would be enough that he would not have to return to the mines, so the decision was made then. After serving as an average student throughout my training, I was commissioned. I have served in OAS, and UZI where I accended to second-in-command for a while. During the GVB III war, I left UZI to better serve my Empire.

The I.D.C. was contacted by Prefect Galenus to carry out a mission against Io's last flight. It was a crowning moment for our fledgling group. We gathered a group of like-minded pilots, and carried out our mission. That thrust us into center stage of the coming war.

M: Were conflicts like this the reason you formed IDC?

W: Not at all. The I.D.C. was commissioned to serve as a defense squad within the Empire, upholding Imperial Law.

M: So what kind of ship do you usually find yourself flying during this conflict?

W: Given the nature of this conflict, I was able to best use my limited skills in the Peregrine, flipping the beacons of Quantar. There is no finer ship. I spent some limited time in an Injustice Nix also.

M: How are your combat skills?

W: I do not think you can say I have actual Combat Skills. I am more of a decoy that tries to pull the fire from the good pilots. Then hopefully they kill everyone before I die. Imagine opening a can of Oct Lite with a tow....kinda like that.

M: What was your involvement in this previous conflict?

W: Well, some have the gift of Combat Skills, some have the gift of Rhetoric. I am wholly in the latter category, so I spent alot of time on that. When I was in-flight, my primary focus, and that of my squad - the I.D.C., was to maintain the beacons. We had plenty of warriors.

M: Are you fairly involved with Octavian affairs?

W: Not totally by choice. As a younger pilot, I wanted to be in the center ring of Octavian politics...anymore, I grow weary of the ego and irritation.

M: What are your opinions about this past conflict? And please be blunt.

W: I think this past war was pathetic. It was the first time I have ever been embarassed to be an Octavian. The saddest part, aside from the numerous traitors and enemies of state who could still buy and sell from the faction, was the number of "Octavians" who would fly as a peaceful civilian in what was their Empire's time of need. That sickens me to no end. I fear we are losing our spirit.

M: So then how does it feel to see some Octavian warriors come out of retirement to help in the battles?

W: I am encouraged at the return to active status of some of the finest Octavius has ever had to offer. I have had conversations with, or fought alongside many of the returning pilots, and I am quite heartened.

M: How many Quants did you kill?

W: I don't have a count.....somewhere between 5-10. Kills are useless if they serve no purpose.

M: Did those kills have "purpose"?

W: Well, in war, all kills are significant. That said, I do not feel they were, as they did not bring victory.

M: What is one battle during this conflict that had an effect on you?

W: They all did. For all the skill and power we supposedly have, we are unable to adequately project that power, renedering it moot.

M: Going into another conflict, have your concerns changed?

W: As I said, I am optimistic at the future of the Empire. We have been revisited by some of our greatest warriors, and leaders. There are a great many new pilots have tasted combat for the first time, and have felt the bitter sting of defeat. I hope it serves as a lesson.

M: Do you think Octavian pilots will become more organized for the upcoming battles?

W: I am most confidant that we will do everything necessary to once again taste victory as an Empire.

M: What effect do you think this conflict and the arising conflict with the STCC are going to have on the Octavian Empire?

W: I hope it will serve to solidify the forces of our mighty Empire, once and for all. For far too long, we have been a nomadic type of Faction, with everyone doing what is in their best interest, not what is in the Empire's best interests. As an Octavian, there is nothing beyond the Empire. I hope these battles serve to demonstrate this to those who have lost sight of this truth, and they will return to service of their Empire in her time of need.

M: Are there any lasting thoughts you would like to give before we end this?

W: While the Empire may appear as it is in disarray, there are many forces at work to redeem it. We shall stand strong again, I am confidant.

M: Thanks for coming and I wish you safe travels and good luck for the following weeks.

W: Thank you for this oppertunity.
